ARLINGTON -- Norma Jean Levy, 76, of Arlington was called home Thursday, May 7, 2015, after a brief but courageous battle with leukemia. Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Interment: 1:15 p.m., Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Lane B, Dallas. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials: Memorial gifts may be made to Disabled American Veterans at dav.org, 877-426-2838. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, in 1938, Norma spent her life dedicated to family and friends. She moved to Texas in 1978 and worked for Earl M. Jorgenson Steel until she retired. She was a two-year president of VFW Ladies Auxiliary 8561 and a chartered member for Unit 60 of the American Legion, holding office of treasurer for five years. Norma loved baking and cooking, and was well-known throughout friend and family circles for her delicious Hungarian pastries. She had a close relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and purposely tried to express His love and acceptance to every person she came in contact with. She will be greatly missed by many who will no doubt feel her presence as it echoes through so many areas of their lives and in their hearts. Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Levy, and parents, Stephen and Mary Stokan. Survivors: She is survived by her brother, David Stokan; children, Mary Lou and Brian Gibbs, Robert and Mary Ann West, Bonnie Yonkman, and Steven West; grandchildren, Sarah Gibbs, Nicholos West, Nicole Yonkman, Amanda and Joshua West; and great- granddaughter, Kensley Gibbs.
