Nita Lynn Taylor

March 15, 1960 — April 4, 2024

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Nita Lynn Taylor, who peacefully departed this life on April 4, 2024, in Dallas. Nita was the beloved daughter of Jean McLaughlin.

Nita lived a life filled with boundless love, unwavering faith, and an adventurous spirit. She found joy in the simplest of pleasures, from riding horses to spending time with her cherished grandson and surrounding herself with the laughter of children. Her devotion to her family and her faith were unwavering, as evidenced by her active participation in the First Baptist Church Arlington community, where she found immense fulfillment in her Sunday school class and the pastor’s Bible study on Wednesdays.

A beacon of light and love, Nita dedicated herself to serving others with a selflessness that knew no bounds. She volunteered tirelessly with CWJC, International Friends of First Baptist and shared her passion for language and culture by assisting college students in China to improve their English skills.

Nita’s creative talents were as diverse as they were remarkable. From baking custom cakes and cupcakes to mastering the art of DIY projects, she approached every endeavor with passion and skill. She lovingly crafted her daughter’s wedding cake, leaving an indelible mark on a cherished family memory.

Born in Hobbs, New Mexico, Nita’s adventurous spirit led her to explore the world alongside her beloved husband, Dan Taylor. Together, they shared a love for country music and attended numerous concerts, savoring each moment together.

Nita’s magnetic personality endeared her to all who knew her, and she cherished her friendships deeply. She had an infectious enthusiasm for life, always ready for new adventures and mischief, lighting up any room she entered with her radiant presence.

Nita leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will be forever treasured by her surviving family members: her beloved mother, Jean McLaughlin; devoted husband, Dan Taylor; loving son, Stephen Warren and his wife Katie; cherished daughter, Jennifer Padilla and her husband Armando; sister, Judy, and her family; adored grandson, Aiden; along with numerous nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Memorial Service: 11 a.m. Thursday, April 11, at First Baptist Church, 301 S. Center Street, Arlington.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Mission Arlington in Nita’s honor, continuing her legacy of service and compassion.

Though Nita may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Her love, laughter, and unwavering faith will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to inspire and uplift us all. May she rest in eternal peace, knowing she was dearly loved and cherished by all whose lives she touched.
