Nelly Adhiambo Oduk

Nelly Adhiambo Oduk, a devoted Mother, Daughter, Sister, Cousin, Aunt, and Niece passed away on November 18th, 2019 at Interlochen Nursing and Rehab Facility in Arlington, Texas. Nelly was born on May 29th, 1969 at Migori District Hospital in Kenya. She was the second child of Roseline Onyango Oduk and the late Joseph Onyango Oduk. Nelly attended Bondeni Primary School, followed by Moi Girls' High School Nyabohanse. Nelly completed her secondary school education at Limuru Girls High School and matriculated at Kenya Government Secretarial College. Nelly worked in Nairobi till 1996, then at Chemelil Sugar Company from 1996 to 2009. She moved to the United States December 2009 and started a new career in the medical field as a Certified Nurse Aide. Nelly continued to work in this capacity for the next nine years, only stopping when she was diagnosed with gastric and esophageal cancer in 2016 and 2019. Nelly fought diligently both times, beating the disease in 2016, and having a wonderful two years with her family, before it returned to claim her in 2019. Nelly is survived by her son Nicholas and daughter Tess, mother Roseline, siblings Betty, Daniel, and Walter and a large and loving extended family. Wade Family Funeral Home & Crematory 817-274-9233
