Nell Walker Darroch passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 82 on July 3, 2020.
Nell was born on July 18, 1937 in Roanoke, Alabama to Minnie and James Burl Walker. She graduated from Handley High School in Roanoke, Alabama and Georgia State College in Atlanta, Georgia. She married Robert Duncan Darroch on September 14, 1958 in Atlanta, Georgia. Together, they raised 4 children in Huntsville, Alabama and later in Arlington Texas.
Nell was an avid seamstress and was self-employed for many years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and quilting. She was a member at First Baptist Church, Arlington, Texas for 51 years, taught third grade Sunday school for over 25 years, and loved her lifelong dear friends in the Friendship department.
Nell was preceded in death by her husband, father, mother, brothers Hollis Walker, Wesley Walker, Jimmy Walker, and sister Judy Bates.
She is survived by her four children and their families: William (Bill) Darroch and wife, April, along with their children Hannah and Samuel; Todd Darroch and wife, Karen, along with their children Kristina and Porter; Kirk Darroch and wife, Randa, along with their children Lillian and James; and Shelia Darroch Reynolds and husband Jay, along with their children Chloe, Bella, and Lucy. She is also survived by her brother, Ben Walker and sister, Jettie Powell.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 from 6-8pm at Wade Funeral Home in Arlington, Texas. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 2pm at Wade Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Children's Ministry of First Baptist Church, Arlington, TX or Mission Arlington.
