Nelda Arlene Fails

Nelda Arlene Fails, 64, passed away on September 21, 2022, in Arlington, TX.

Nelda was born in Gorman, TX, on to May 31, 1958, to Jimmy Ray Little and Verna Lee Garrett.

Nelda dedicated her life to serving others, friend or stranger, in all ways and at all times. She generously gave her love, time, resources, energy, smile, and effort at every opportunity. She was a committed caretaker both for her family and for her home health patients, whom she served professionally for over 20 years. She was a tireless hard worker who daily embodied the Bible verse 1 John 3:18, “…let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.”

She deeply desired to make others feel loved, welcomed, and wanted, and was always ready with a steady helping hand, patient listening ear, and bright encouraging smile to support another through their most difficult trials. She put others needs above her own and was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, Christ-follower and friend. She was the very first person anyone could call at any hour, with any need for practical help or wise insight, and she would provide both in abundance.

Her faith in the Lord and her love for others went hand in hand. She had a contagious joy rooted in her devotion to Jesus, and a zest for life that lifted others up. Her life reflected her belief that Jesus Christ was God and came to earth to redeem mankind, dying on the cross for all our sins to bridge the distance between us and God and bring us back into His family. She is with Him today in paradise and would want all to know that He is “the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through [Him].” She was a tangible reflection of God’s great love for us and lived out that love. Her compassionate light and cheerful presence will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and community.

Nelda is survived by her sons, Cody Dean Fails (Courtney) and Jarad Lee Fails (Heather); brothers, Ray Neal Little (Melissa), and James Vernon Little (Jill); grandson, Forrest Vern Fails; many special cousins including Karen Patterson, Becky Ethington, and LaDawn Snapp; dear nieces, and beloved extended family.

The service for Nelda Fails will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Wade Family Funeral Home in Arlington, TX.

One charity Nelda held dear was Mission Arlington, and donations made in her honor would be appreciated.
