Myron Darrell Freund

Myron Freund, age 67, passed away in his Arlington, Texas home on November 30, 2023.

Myron was born on February 6, 1956 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Merle H. and Dorothy (Nekvinda) Freund. Known as “Peanut” growing up, he attended Fort Dodge Community Schools and played baseball at Fort Dodge Senior High School before graduating in May 1973.

As a young teenager in Fort Dodge, Myron developed what would become a deep and lifelong passion for motorcycles, both on and offroad. He loved the fellowship with other motorcycle enthusiasts and even rode Motocross for many years. Myron was a talented mechanic and was always willing to help others. In 1985, he moved to Lancaster, Texas to work in a Kawasaki Shop.

Drawing on the experience he gained working in construction while growing up, Myron eventually went to work in construction as an estimator and project manager. He was well-known in the commercial construction industry and was directly responsible for many high-profile projects across North Texas.

Myron was preceded in death by his parents, Merle H. and Dorothy Freund. He is survived by brother Marvin Freund of Johnston, Iowa, Maurice Freund of Duncan, South Carolina and sister Donna Sprague of Cedar Rapids Iowa.

Myron was loved by many and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
