Mimi Stone Rowlette

January 22, 1960 — August 29, 2024

Fortworth

In loving memory of a woman who lived life on her own terms, Mimi Stone Rowlette passed away in Fort Worth, TX on August 29, 2024. Born in Bristol, TN on January 22, 1960, Mimi faced the challenges of diabetes with unwavering strength, earning herself the title of "diabadass." She was a devoted customer utilization manager at Humana, where she made a difference in the lives of many.

Mimi was a resilient soul who graduated summa cum laude from East Tennessee State University with a marketing degree. She was passionate about volunteering with children, helping them improve their reading skills. She was also active in the Breakthrough T1D foundation, formally known as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). An avid NASCAR fan, Mimi found joy in watching the races and cheering on her favorite drivers.

Recently, Mimi and her sister, Elizabeth Rowlette, purchased a new home together, creating a sanctuary filled with love and laughter. Despite losing their parents at a young age, Mimi stepped up to help raise her sister, forming an unbreakable bond that defined their relationship.

One unforgettable memory shared between Mimi and Elizabeth was the exhilarating experience of skydiving, where Mimi's determination shone through even after enduring a challenging landing that left her with broken legs. Despite breaking both legs she was determined to skydive again once she healed. As we reflect on Mimi's life, we remember her resilience, compassion, and fierce spirit that touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Mimi is survived by her sisters, Elizabeth Rowlette, Susan Fryrear, and Donna Hurst; brother, Vance Hardin and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mimi was preceded in death by her parents, Buddy Rowlette and Mimi Stone
