ARLINGTON -- Milford Roberts "M.R." Murphy, 93, passed away Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014, in Arlington.
Graveside service: 2:30 p.m. Monday in Parkdale Cemetery, Arlington. Visitation: noon to 2 p.m. Monday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.

Milford was born Oct. 31, 1921, in Rock Creek to John Wright and Lillian Geneva Roberts Murphy. He was an Arlington resident for the past 61 years.
Milford was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II and went on to graduate with a BSEE from the University of Texas and received his master's degree from Southern Methodist University.
He retired as an engineer from Bell Helicopter, where he was awarded 11 patents and co-patents.
Milford loved the outdoors; he enjoyed canoeing, fishing, hunting and camping.
He loved spending time with his family and deeply loved his children and animals.
Survivors: Wife of 66 years, Valerie E. Murphy; daughters, Susan Lynn Murphy, Patty Murphy and Nancy E. Murphy; and grandchildren, Alissa Sutton and Natalie Murphy.
