Milam “Miles” Coker Leveridge, 74 (although he kept rounding up to 75), passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at his home in Arlington just down the street from his beloved Rangers Ballpark.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Wade Funeral Home in Arlington at 11:00am. A reception will follow, also at Wade Funeral Home.
Memorial gifts may be made in Mile’s honor to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, an organization that helped him beat cancer TWICE. His oncologist and his spirit and determination to live were pretty important as well. You can donate now by clicking here.
Miles was born on September 13, 1948 in Fort Worth, Texas to Milam (Ted) Stanley Leveridge, Jr. and Emmogene Coker Leveridge. He lived most of his life on the East Side of Fort Worth. He went to Texas Wesleyan University on a golf scholarship and then took over the family business, Southwest Mailing, which he ran for decades. He moved to Arlington about 10 years ago where he routinely visited random tailgates at AT&T stadium across the street and he let all of us park for concerts and ball games at his condo. He was a very proud father, grandfather, brother, uncle, coach, husband, and friend to so many buddies. He lived life to the fullest and didn’t waste a single moment. He loved showing up early to the Leveridge family Christmas Party and making his daughter wrap his gifts. He was also passionate about collecting Texas Rangers bobbleheads and sports memorabilia in general, back when it was a thing. He almost got his favorite son-in-law “arrested” by the bobble-head police for violating the one-per-customer rule. His joy for friends and family, sports, for the Rangers, for golf, for the Stars, for little league baseball, for Eastern Hills, for just living life to the fullest will be greatly missed.
Miles was preceded in death by too many to list but most important were his beloved brothers Stan and Ted, who were not just brothers but best friends.
He is survived by his son Michael Leveridge; daughter Renee Leveridge and her husband Greg Jones; granddaughter Morgan; sister Kimberly Combs and her husband Tommy; his best friend of 18 years, Darla; and numerous nieces and nephews who remember him at their ballgames because his voice and his cheers were louder than anyone else’s in the stands.
