Mildred P. Brown

ARLINGTON -- Mildred Phillips Brown, 100, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, in Arlington. Graveside service: 2 p.m. Thursday in Childress Cemetery, Childress. Mildred was born Sept. 8, 1913, in Quanah to Jessie and Mary Creamer Phillips. She was a college graduate and was a former employee of the Childress County Tax Assessor Collector and the First National Bank. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Childress, where she served as treasurer and was also a member of the Woman's Club. Mildred enjoyed golf and was an avid card player. She was preceded in death by her husband, A.J. Brown. Survivors: Niece, Beth LaVallee and husband, Bill; great-niece, Kandise Davidson and her children, Adam and Kaycee; and great-nephew, Chris LaVallee. Wade Family Funeral Home Arlington, 817-274-9233
