Michael Thomas Mayes

Michael Thomas Mayes, 62, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2020 in Arlington. Funeral Service: 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 13, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Interment: 1:30 p.m., Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Visitation: 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Michael was born on November 11, 1957 in Danville, Illinois to Willie Mayes and LouElla Lardell Mayes. He served in the U.S. Air Force. Michael worked in the transportation industry for 30 plus years along with several other ventures. He loved collecting, gardening, reading and talk shows. He was especially dedicated to his love of antique cars; paying special attention to his '57 Chevy. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and LouElla Mayes; brother, Jerry Mays; and grandmother, Ethel Henry Rose. Survivors: Son, Michael Mayes; daughter, Atori Mayes-Sobers and husband, Deron; brothers, Carl Mayes and wife, Mitzi, Danny Mayes and wife, Alta, and Tony Mayes; sisters, Vickey Headd and husband, Dennis, Terry Rose and husband, Steven; and grandchildren, Emerald Sobers and Hope Mayes.
