On September 18, 1965, he married the love of his life, Linda. In June of 1966, they welcomed their first son, Michael. A few years later, in March of 1970, their twins, a son and daughter, Brian and Laura, were born. Shortly after the twins arrived, Mike was transferred to Houston by Shell Oil.
