Michael Gene Sparks

Michael Gene “Sparky” Sparks, 41, passed away July 8, 2022 at home from an apparent aneurysm.

Memorial Service: 2 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.

Michael was born February 20, 1981 at Arlington Memorial Hospital. Baptized at South Oaks Baptist Church and graduated Kennedale High School in 1999. He dearly loved above all his cat, Miter Kitty: his great-grandmother: vacations with his mother and brother; family reunions; all the annual trips, river rafting and Indian Guides with his Poppi; the band, Tool; Tool concerts (especially in New York); helping people; his work family at SpringHill Suites and Hampton Inn Suites; playing jokes on family and work family; and furnishing food and water for stray animals.

Michael is survived by his mother, Annette Love; brother and wife, Chance and Magan Cooke; niece, Chloe Cooke; nephew, Chance Cooke Jr.; grandparents, Gordon and Wannie Rainey; aunt and uncle, Dianna and Bart Snow; cousins, LaShey Pratt, Morgan Lowe, Dylan Rainey and Motley Pratt; great-aunt and uncle, Wease and Joe Harden; and many extended cousins and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, ALB and Anna Payne and Dan and Ann Rainey; uncle, G.G. Rainey; and great-uncle, Arthur Payne.
