Melissa Erin Hames

October 10, 1974 — August 12, 2023

Melissa Erin Hames, 48, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023 in Walnut Springs, Texas from injuries sustained in an auto accident.

Melissa was born on October 10, 1974 in Dallas, Texas to Bill and Karen Hames. She grew up in Arlington and was currently living in Granbury. She attended Central Texas College and majored in Computer Science.

Words cannot even begin to describe the uniqueness of Melissa’s qualities, but everyone would agree she was tenacious, strong willed, determined, compassionate, selfless, adventurous and very strong. One of her strongest personality traits was her amazing sense of humor, effortlessly making everyone laugh. Her incredible ability to deliver comebacks in a split second was just simply priceless. Her beautiful smile always lit up any room. Melissa’s loving heart automatically put others first and to say she was selfless was an understatement. Melissa had a heart of gold, always helping other people and putting them before herself. She never met a stranger.

Melissa had a natural gift for connecting with animals, especially her dog Molly. They were two peas in a pod and rarely apart. Her favorite activity was fishing and being outdoors gave her so much joy. She loved listening to different genres of music, but her favorites included christian, country and alternative rock. Melissa will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her aunt, Janis Dye and cousin, Michael Dye.
