Maureen Lea Beck

July 13, 1957 — June 8, 2024

Maureen Lea Beck, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker, passed away on June 8, 2024, at the age of 66 in Arlington, TX.

Maureen was born on July 13, 1957, in Phoenix, AZ to Almon and Carolyn Camp. She grew up in Arizona and later in Chula Vista and Garden Grove, California. While attending church in California, she met Dwaine Beck, and they were married on June 5, 1982. Maureen and Dwaine had just recently celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary.

Maureen dedicated her life to her family. Her selflessness and generosity knew no bounds, as she not only raised her own children but also played a significant role in raising five of her grandchildren. She adored every one of her grandchildren and found her greatest joy when she was with them. Maureen’s warm and giving nature extended beyond her family…it was even said that some of her children’s friends loved Maureen more than they did their own mother!

Maureen was a youth leader at her church and loved to perform skits at their annual Valentine’s Day banquet. She had a great sense of humor…her skits were hilarious and always the most remembered performance of the show.

Maureen loved flowers and restoring old furniture. She also loved to decorate…she was a craftsman who even helped decorate her children’s homes. Maureen had a knack for finding treasure at garage sales, thrift stores, and estate sales. Although she found many items that she could sell for a profit on eBay, she gave away more than she ever sold. That’s who Maureen was…she gave of her time, talents, and possessions to everyone she knew. She gave unconditionally.

Maureen was preceded in death by her parents Almon Wendell Camp, and Minnie Carolyn Camp, and sister Debbie Camp.

She is survived by her husband Dwaine Beck; daughters Amanda Harvey (husband Luke) and Emily Beck; son Ryan Beck (wife Sahvanna); brothers Doug Camp and Greg Camp; sister Janene Hnida; her treasured grandchildren: Dillon Goodfellow, Logan Goodfellow, Aidan Harvey, Gracie Harvey, Riley Martin, Christian Locklear, Emmett Beck, Eli Beck and Ethan Beck.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation in Maureen’s memory to the Down Syndrome Partnership of North Texas. You can donate now by clicking here.

Maureen was an amazing, caring, selfless and giving woman. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
