Mattie Elizabeth York

Mattie Elizabeth Markham, "Pat", York, a longtime resident of The Cove at Waterview in Granbury, Texas passed away on Wednesday, July 8 at the age of almost 99. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Leo H. York. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 14 at 9 am at the Wade Funeral Home Chapel on Pioneer Parkway in Arlington, Texas. Visitation will be Monday, July 13 from 6 to 8 pm. Pat will be buried with her husband at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery. Pat was born September 20, 1921 in Grand Prairie, Texas to James Walter and Emma Florence Markham. She and Leo were owners of The Cottage Diner Cafe in Grand Prairie and Fort Worth. They were also longtime merchants at Traders Village in Grand Prairie. A heartfelt thanks goes to the staff at The Cove at Waterview for the loving care extended to Pat during her years as a resident. Survivors: Son, Dennis York and wife Donna; daughter, Donna Bell and husband Mike; grandchildren Melinda Kerr and husband PJ, Devin York and wife Jamie, Tony Bell and wife Becky, and Diana Hughes and husband, David and seven great grandchildren.
