FORT WORTH -- Mary Cravens Wysong Haney, 76, died Monday, Feb. 1, 2016.
Funeral: 3 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church of Fort Worth.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made for lung cancer research at Southwestern Medical Foundation, Parkland Hall at Old Parkland, 3889 Maple Ave., Suite 100, Dallas, Texas 75219-3914, or a charity of your choice.
Mary was born May 31, 1939, to Carlisle Grove and Jimmie Widman Cravens, a pioneer Arlington family. She attended Arlington High School, Wellesley College, and the University of Texas at Austin.
Mary worked for over 30 years in the financial services industry. She traveled the world over, but her favorite place was St. Elmo, Colo., where she walked the trails in the area as a young child and throughout her whole life.
Mary was a member of the Junior League of Fort Worth, Lecture Foundation, and numerous industry organizations. She devoted time and resources to organizations helping education, girls and women and was instrumental in getting Big Brothers to become Big Brothers and Big Sisters. She was an early supporter of Women's Haven and of programs in the FWISD for at-risk girls, including those to help pregnant teens complete their education.
Mary loved her artwork, entertaining and cooking for a crowd both at home in Fort Worth and in St. Elmo.
Survivors: Spouse, Michael D. Haney; family, W. Scott Wysong IV, Carlisle C. Wysong (Bridget), William T. Wysong, Elizabeth Haney Rammerstorfer (Christian) Michael P. Haney (Cathy), Mary Corigan Wysong, Colby, Austin, and Owen Haney, Tom Cravens (Diane); cousins, nieces and nephews; and other extended family members and friends.
