Mary Helen Robertson

November 18, 1943 — February 10, 2025

Arlington

Mary Helen Robertson was born on November 18, 1943, in Dallas, Texas. She was the daughter of Irvin McKnight and Helen Whitfield Green. She grew up in Sherman, Texas and graduated from Sherman High School in 1961. Mary went on to attend the University of North Texas on a typing scholarship.

It was during her college years that Mary met the love of her life, Thomas Lee Robertson “Robbie” who was stationed at Perrin Air Force Base. After a brief courtship, they married, and their love endured for 63 years. Together, they raised three children: David, Vikki, and Becca, who were the center of Mary's world.

Mary's career began in the health and fitness industry at the President's First Lady Health Club and Jack LaLanne's Fitness Centers. She later worked at Revco, dedicating ten years of her life to the company. She also honed her gift-wrapping skills at Watson’s Department Store that was in downtown Arlington, where she worked seasonally to help pay for her children’s Christmas.

Mary and Robbie shared a love for arcade games and slot machines, and Mary had a deep love of reading. She loved her pets and had numerous dogs and cats throughout her life. She was a frugal and resourceful mother who skillfully provided for her family, often on a modest budget, but never compromising on love or care.

Her intellectual nature and unwavering guidance shaped the lives of her children, leaving them with lasting memories of perseverance and strength.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Irvin McKnight and Helen Whitfield Green and her brother, Robert Green. She is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Robbie; her son David Robertson, his spouse, Robert Anderson; daughter Vikki Stalcup and her husband Wade Stalcup; daughter Becca Kemp and her husband Kyle Kemp; grandchildren Nick Covey and his wife Kelsey; Lauren Terry and her husband Bobby; Lane Soos and his wife Christian; Zeke Kemp; Kaylee Null and her husband Jacob; Austin Kemp; and 6 great grandchildren Ayden, Jaxson, Wyatt, Noah, Hunter, and Hudson.

Mary will be remembered for her beautiful smile, boundless love, kindness, and the enduring legacy she leaves behind in her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Mary’s family would like to say a special thank you to their next-door neighbors Frankie Gonzalez and his wife Cecilia Cerrano. They were there for our parents in many ways and we will always be thankful.
