Mary Margaret Martin

PANTEGO-Mrs. Mary Margaret Martin passed away April 28, 2019 at her home. Memorial Service: Plans to be announced at a later date. Memorials: Donations can be made to Alzheimer's Association-North Central Texas Chapter. Mary Margaret was born November 16, 1933 in Memphis, Texas to Paul Ellis and Leila May Smithey. She attended University of South Dakota, graduating in 1952 with a B.S. degree in Speech Pathology. She earned her Master's in 1980 from the University of Texas at Austin. She married John W. Martin July 18, 1986. Mary Margaret made a 32-year career as a Speech Pathologist helping children at elementary school level, retiring in 2000. She loved the children and her work. Mary Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Paul Smithey. Survivors: Mary is survived by her husband, John Martin; sister, JoAnn Jentsch; and 3 sons by a previous marriage, Tracey Blashill of Three Forks, Montana, Pat Blashill of Vienna, Austria and Sean Blashill of Austin; cousin, Kathy Dixon of Marynell, Texas.
