Mary "Lou" Louise Adkins

GRAPEVINE -- Mary Louise "Lou" Adkins, 85, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, in Grapevine, Texas. Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. PIoneer Parkway, Arlington, Texas, with Bishop Richard Carroll officiating. Visitation: 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials: Memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of North Texas. Lou was born on May 22, 1931, in San Angelo, Texas, to Carson Christopher Miles and Willie Louise Swann Miles. She married Bernard Dale Adkins on Sept. 10, 1947, in Mertzon, Texas. They were longtime residents of Hobbs, N.M., and were members of First Baptist Church of Hobbs for over 56 years. Bernard was an employee of Halliburton. Lou was preceded in death by her husband in 2013, Bernard Dale Adkins. Survivors: Sons, Stephen Dale Adkins and wife, Mary Ann, Chris Carson Adkins and wife, Cindy; daughter, Judy Carroll and husband, Richard; brother, Bradley Miles of San Angelo, Texas; sister-in-law, Dorothy Jordan of Lubbock, Texas. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Tricia Carroll, Stephen Carroll, Christopher Carroll, Cory Carroll, Kimberly Carroll Brown, Haley Carroll Pierson, Addison Adkins, Trevor Adkins, Miles Adkins, Melissa Adkins Murphy and Catherine Van Tassell Kalian, and 13 great-grandchildren, Maili Carroll, Abigail Carroll, Mia Carroll, Sheppard Carroll,Eveline Carroll, Carson Pierson, Camilla Pierson, Brooke Pierson, Spencer Pierson, Jackson Brown, Savannah Adkins, Lei Ann Paredes and Brittany Ann Paredes.
