Mary Garlene Byrd was peacefully summoned to the presence of her Lord and Savior on June 18th, 2019 after a courageous battle with bile duct cancer. At the age of 61 she has been reunited with her husband Carl Talbot Byrd in their Heavenly home.
Garlene was born on September 12th, 1957 in Texarkana, Arkansas to Garland and Mary Lucille Missildine. Shorty after graduating from Arkansas High School in Texarkana, she married her husband Carl Byrd of 35 years. The newly weds moved to Arlington, Texas. Garlene furthered her education at Tarrant County Community College before she and Carl opened Laser Copy, a full service print shop that they owned and operated until the business sold in 2010. Afterwards, Garlene worked for Scholastic Book Fairs, a job she thoroughly enjoyed with coworkers she loved.
Garlene's favorite things in life were hanging out with her family, shopping and gift giving and anything to do with Cinderella. If each life had a motto, Garlene's would have been, “If you can be anything, be kind!”
She is survived by her son Brandon Byrd and wife Lyndsay of Kennedale, daughter Brittany Billings and husband Brad of Euless, and Sister Carolyn Morgan of Arlington. Grandchildren: Aspen and Colt Byrd of Kennedale and Grayson Billings of Euless. Niece: Connie Winter and husband Mike of Midlothian, their children Morgan and Mason, and many great family members, co-workers and friends.
