Mary Cecelia Colin

October 10, 1920 — July 14, 2013

Mary Cecelia (Signorella) Colin, faithful Christian, devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and compassionate friend, joined her Savior on Sunday, July 14, 2013. She was born Mary Signorella on October 10, 1920 in Ford City, PA , and married MSGT William L. Colin in Tarentum, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband, and grandson Christian J. Nauman. She is survived by her two children, Penney and Mike and their spouses, Dan Nauman of Anderson, SC and Donna Colin of Arlington, Texas. She was a proud grandmother of Beth (Nauman) and Mark Yarborough of Greenville, SC, Brian Colin of Arlington TX, Natalie (Colin) and Jason Austin of Rockwall TX, and Carol (Colin) and Micah Young of Keller TX. Mary especially delighted in her seven great grandchildren, Jacob Christian and Jordan Haley Yarborough , Cassidy Taylor and Chloe Michelle Colin, Meredith Stearns and Colin Michael Young and Mary Katherine Austin. “Nunny”, “Nonna” or “Gigi”, as she was known, will be fondly remembered and missed for her sense of humor, her generosity, her love of family and devotion to her Roman Catholic faith. She had a generous heart and was ever eager to share with those in need. After raising her children, she became a foster mother through Catholic Charities of Pittsburgh PA, nurturing orphaned infants until adoption by a loving family could be accomplished. She was a prayerful and devoted Christian who shared God's love with those she came in contact, including teaching elementary school children Confraternity Christian Doctrine (CCD) classes. She read and memorized scripture and prayed constantly. Mary held tightly to the hands of her loved ones and her beloved Rosary beads. In her honor, a memorial Rosary will be recited at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1200 S Davis, Arlington, TX, on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Friends will be received before the rosary. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St Maria Goretti church in support of their outreach ministries, such as the “Visitation Ministry” which Mary looked forward to and greatly appreciated the lay Eucharistic ministers arrival and receiving the sacrament of Holy Communion.
