Mary B. Simmons

Mary Bennett Simmons passed away July 26, 2018. Graveside: 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 10 at DFW National Cemetery, Dallas. Mary was born on December 5, 1931 in Cartersville, Georgia. She was the 2nd child and oldest daughter of Rueben Henry Bennett and Clara Vaughn Bennett. She married Thomas E. Simmons on October 11, 1953 in Marietta, Georgia. After living in various southern states, they moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1970. Mary worked for Miller Brewery in Fort Worth for 20 years. She loved her family; especially her 3 grandsons. She enjoyed traveling, nature, gardening, animals, and most of all helping others. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years; her parents; her oldest brother, William Bennett; her sisters, Betty Richardson and Opal Woodall. Survivors: Daughter, Melissa A. Cunningham (husband, Terry); grandsons, Travis, Chad, Jared Cunningham; sisters, Jo Bagwell, Ruth Brackett, Margaret Meadows (Dan), Janice Brookshire (Jim), and Sharon Nichols (Jerry); brother, Henry Bennett (Myrick); and numerous nieces and nephews.
