Martha "JoAnne" Burns McWithey

Martha "JoAnne" Burns was born on June 29, 1939, to James Ewell Burns and Winifred Emogene Kirby. She graduated from North Dallas High School in 1957 where she made many lifelong friends and later enjoyed attending the NDHS Bulldog reunions. 

After High school, JoAnne attended the University of North Texas. JoAnne married to David Allen McWithey in until his death in 2022. In 1974, JoAnne and David moved to Arlington, Texas, where they raised their two children, Mike and Susan. 

JoAnne was actively involved in the Arlington community and was a founding member of the Junior League of Arlington. An avid tennis player and golfer, JoAnne also loved her fast-paced walks outdoors. She worked for several years as an interior decorator and was known for her impeccable sense of style. 

JoAnne is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael David McWithey and Cheryl McWithey; her daughter and son-in-law, Susan McWithey Hawk and John Geiser; granddaughter Madison McWithey; grandson Judge McWithey; sister Bettye Burns Davis; and brother and sister-in-law Steve and Julie Crowley. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
