Martha Johnson

Arlington- Martha Walker Johnson passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024 after a beautifully lived life surrounded by family. 

Graveside service: 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 29th at Ash Creek Cemetery in Azle, Texas. 

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association or Alzheimer’s Association in her honor. 

Born May 8, 1930 in Toyah, Texas, Martha was the daughter of the late James and Medora Walker. She married Buck Johnson on June 4, 1949. They were married 61 wonderful years; spending countless hours fishing on Lake Bridgeport and enjoying time with family and friends. One of Martha’s most significant accomplishments was raising her three children who she held as her pride and joy. 

Martha had a lifelong love of reading and worked in the library at South Davis Elementary School and Arlington High School. A friend to many, she was a cherished member of the Carver Heights Estates (Elmcroft) Senior Living Community leaving behind a legacy of kindness. 

She was proceeded in death by her husband Buck, parents, and her three sisters Margaret, Lou and Jane and their spouses. 

Survivors: Martha is survived by her children and their spouses: Nancy and Erick, David and Martha, and Bruce and Carol. Grandchildren and their spouses: Julie and Travis, Jeremy and Jackie, Lindsey and Tommy, Kalee and Chris, Drew and Megan, Clay, and Kris. Great grandchildren: Noah, Sofia, Hazel, Silas, Wyatt, Jack, Beau, Luke and Scarlett; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
