ARLINGTON -- Marjorie Louise McCarron Poitras, 92, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2013 in Arlington. Funeral: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at St. John's Catholic Church, 313 S. Navy Blvd., Pensacola, FL with Father Joseph Callipare officiating. Interment: 11:00 a.m. at the Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, FL. Marjorie will be interred with her husband of 60 years. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Community Hospice of Texas, Town Hall Estates of Arlington, or Catholic Charities. Marjorie was born on August 7, 1920 in Aurora, Illinois. She was married on October 3, 1942 to Adrian William Poitras in Wheaton, IL. Marjorie and Adrian raised three children and resided in Champaign, IL, Pittsburgh, PA, Auburn, AL, Tallahassee, FL and Miami, FL from 1947 until 1984. Marjorie worked as a school librarian at Madonna Academy in Hollywood, FL until retirement. After retirement, she moved with Adrian to Ft. Walton Beach, FL. They developed an active interest in family genealogy and traveled to do research. Marjorie was preceded in death by Adrian in 2002 after 60 years of marriage. Survivors: She is survived by her son Adrian Joseph Poitras and his wife April, her daughter Mary Poitras Gardner and her husband John, and her daughter, Margaret Poitras Norona and her husband Henry.
