ARLINGTON -- Marion Floyd Hayes, 77, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, in Mansfield.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday in Wade Family Funeral Home Chapel, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Interment: Emerald Hills Memorial Park, Kennedale. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Wade Family Funeral Home.
Marion was born Oct. 7, 1934, in Kansas City, Mo., to Emerson F. Hayes and Agnes L. Black Hayes. He graduated from Webb City High School in 1952 and was a member of Frisco Church in Webb City, Mo. He was a member of the National Guard. Marion worked as a carpenter and also worked for Eagle Picher and Vought Aircraft. He had a love of cars and carpentry, and enjoyed making toys for his grandson, Jason. Marion was a dedicated, hard-working man who still found time for his family. He enjoyed Bill Gaither music and watching sports, especially the Dallas Mavericks. He was excited to see a Super Bowl and two World Series near his home. Marion took care of his wife, Bonnie, during her long struggle with cancer.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Bonnie J. Hayes.
Survivors: Son, Philip Hayes and wife, Debbie, of Arlington; daughter, Cathy Daniels and husband, David, of Arlington; grandson, Jason Daniels and wife, Esmeralda, of Irving; brother-in-law, Lonnie Black and wife, JoAnn, of Arlington; and many cousins and lifelong friends.
