Marilyn Campbell Anderson

September 16, 1947 — January 21, 2018

Marilyn Campbell Anderson went to be with her Savior in Heaven on January 21, 2018. She was at home and passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family. For twenty years, she fought a courageous battle with cancer and its complications, squeezing every ounce of joy from her life until it was time to go to her eternal home. She was born and raised in Texarkana and received her nursing degree at Texarkana Community College while also raising her young children. Marilyn then served as an ICU nurse at St. Michael's Hospital, then at Texarkana Community Hospital. Marilyn always carried a passion for making patient care a priority and served the majority of her career in Healthcare Quality Control, Risk Management, and Joint Commission preparedness. She served as Director, then as Vice President of Quality and Risk Management for a number of hospital corporations. Marilyn loved her family fiercely and those who knew her would say that she was one of the kindest and most remarkable women they had encountered. She was a loving wife, wonderful mother, artist, and Sunday School teacher. Marilyn is preceded in death by her mother and father, Jewell Carr and William Hugh Campbell, Sr., her sister Margaret Ann Velte, and her two brothers William Hugh Campbell, Jr. and John Earnest Campbell. She is remembered here on earth by her loving husband Robert (Bob) Anderson, and their six children; Phillip Wayne, Stephanie, Michael Jay, Audrey Camille, Marion, and Carmen and her husband Robert. She cherished her role as proud grandmother of nine grandchildren; Matthew, Phillip, Jesse, Derian, Lillie, David, Amanda and Will. Marilyn is also succeeded by her sister, whom she loved, Carol Thornton and her husband Randy, and their two daughters Kelly and her husband Chris and their two daughters Reagan and Rylee, and Kendall and her husband Travis. Near to her heart were her son Michael's family – Corrina, Ceris, Cora, and Cambrie, her late brother John's daughters Stacey and Julie, and her late brother Hugh's son William Hugh, III. Marilyn also loved her Brother in Law Gerry and her nephews Jonathan, his wife Heather, Steven his wife Jiwon and their two daughters Vivian and Victoria, and Michael and his wife Elizabeth and their two daughters Emily and Savannah. Memorial services for Marilyn will be held Friday, February 2, 2018 at First Baptist Church Arlington, Texas followed by a private graveside burial for family at DFW National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts to the First Baptist Church Arlington “Blessing the Generations” - Preschool and Children's Building Project. Wade Family Funeral Home (817) 274-9233
