ARLINGTON -- Marika Du Toit Gillen, 43, passed away suddenly on Monday, Nov. 2, 2015. Service: Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Parish, 1927 S.W. Green Oaks Blvd., with the funeral immediately following officiated by Rev. Marc Lowrance of St. John the Apostle United Methodist Church of Arlington. A memorial Mass and burial will take place at a later date in New Orleans, La. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John the Apostle United Methodist Church, St. Joseph Roman Catholic Parish or St. Joseph Catholic School in Arlington. Marika was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. She was a graduate of Stellenbosch University in South Africa and was proud of being a citizen of the United States, where she has lived for the past 18 years. Survivors: She is survived by her husband, Gil Richard Gillen; and their children, Andrew Gerard Du Toit Gillen and Marie Elisabeth Gillen. She also is survived by her parents, Jurie Hendrik and Marie Ferreira Du Toit, and brother, Jurie H. Du Toit, of Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
