Fort Worth, Texas – Maria Luisa Cruz, 95, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, November 10, 2023.

Maria was born to the late Maria (Delval) and Victoriano Teran. She was preceded in death by husband of 72 years, Flavio Jaime Cruz Sr., daughter Sylvia Irene Khalili; son in law Gene Pirreca; brothers, Victor, Alberto (Beto), Guillermo (Willie), and Eduardo (Lalo).

Maria was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. She began work as a secretary for Alimite Company and later worked in retail for many years at J.C. Penney. She eventually moved to Fort Worth to be with her family who were in the DFW area. She loved dancing, playing rummy, word search puzzles, ice cream, and spending time with her family. Thanksgiving was her favorite holiday.

Those left to cherish her memory include son, Flavio Jaime Cruz Jr., Fort Worth, Texas; daughters, Virginia Ann Pirreca, Chula Vista, California; Teresa Marie Derda (Steven), Fort Worth, Texas; 8 grandchildren, Jennifer, Valerie, Joey, Erica, Jessica, Andrew, Samantha, and Adam; 6 great grandchildren, Taylor, Destiny, Genesis, Marqui, Julius, and Erik; 1 great-great grandchild Sadie; sister Consuelo (Chelo) Gonzalez; brother Ernesto (Neto) Teran (Margarita); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
