Margie Lonnie Stanley 1925 – 2015 On March 10, 2015, God walked through his garden and picked a beautiful rose to take home. Margie Stanley, 89, of Irving Texas was called home to her Lord and Savior. Margie was a long time member of the Assembly of God Church in Irving, TX. She worked for over 35 years at Irving High School Food Service. She specialized in pies and bread. She retired, but continued to work part time there through age 82. Funeral: 2:00 Friday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Interment: Shady Grove Cemetery, Irving. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Margie prided herself as an expert pattern maker and seamstress. She made customized clothes for the public and her family. Margie's heart always remained in Wright City and Valliant, Oklahoma where she lived for many years prior to moving to Irving, Texas. She continued to subscribe to the Valliant newspaper. Margie was a certified welder during World War II. She enjoyed frame making, crocheting and was an avid reader. Playing the accordion was another favorite pass time. She loved listening to music. Margie kept the love of God her priority. Survivors: Son, Dennis Stanley and wife Mary Stanley; daughter, Denise Shipley and husband Larry Shipley which will forever remember Margie Stanley, their beloved Mother. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Jill Bly and husband Rob, Virginia Stanley, Valerie Lipinski and husband Kevin, Christina Stanley, Brad George and wife Aimee and David George; sister, Belle Pendergrass and brother Michael Grabeel. Preceded in death by her beloved husband Hershel Stanley, parents Joe Cephus and Polly Grabeel, brothers Bob Grabeel, William Grabeel and sister Sue Kiser. She is fondly remembered by countless other friends and family who were blessed to know her.
