Margaret Jeane Hughes

Margaret “Jeane” Hughes, age 87, passed away peacefully Dec. 27, 2020 of natural causes. She was born Oct. 1, 1933 in Tyler, Texas to Myrtle and Conrad House. She married her best friend, Thomas H. Hughes on Sept. 2, 1956. Funeral: 11:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Woodland West Church of Christ, 3101 W. Park Row Drive, Arlington. Interment: 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please contribute to Hearts & Hands, N. Davis Church of Christ. Jeane was in the Tyler Rose Festival and an Apache Bell. A graduate of Tyler High School and The University of Texas at Austin, she taught elementary school for a number of years. She loved her cats, reading, playing bridge and traveling and was a member of Woodland West Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband, children Carin Hughes and Tracy Bowers, sons-in-law Jon Kieffer and Will Bowers, and grandchildren Carlye and Thatcher Bowers.
