Christine Mackin went to be with the Lord early on Thanksgiving morning. She was 93.
She was born in Jackson, TN and was a long-time resident of Arlington, Texas. She was a retiree of the Arlington Independent School District and a member of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband Arbie Robert Mackin, her mother Sadie Lou Robison, and father George Robison; brothers Abner Robison and Boone Robison, and sister Frances Wills. Survivors include her daughters Cheryl (Hal) Sacks, Cynthia Elkins, and Christy Barbuto (Philip Aldridge); sons Robert Mackin, and Randall Mackin; granddaughters Nicole (Marco) Reginelli, and Brooke (Justin) Saucier; great grandsons Luca and Rocco, and great granddaughters Cosi Rose and Charlotte Louise.
How appropriate that she went to heaven on Thanksgiving because “thanksgiving” truly described her life. She thanked God for everything! She faithfully kept a “blessing” book where every night she wrote down the blessings she’d received that day. Sometimes, it was something as small as receiving coupons in the mail or someone being especially nice to her in the grocery store.
She distributed blessings, too. Whether it was money, clothes, groceries, baked brownies, letters to prison, prayers, or hugs, no one crossed her path that did not get blessed.
She leaves her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren a legacy of faith and prayer. She will be greatly missed!
