Marcus Wendel Tooke

July 8, 1930 — April 27, 2020

M. Wendel Tooke passed to be with the Lord Monday, April 27th 2020 at the age of 89 from complications of Alzheimer's. Services will held Monday, May 4th at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 West Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, TX 76013 with a viewing from 12:00 noon to 1 :30 pm. A graveside memorial will be held at Moore Memorial Gardens same day from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, 1219 N. Davis Dr., Arlington Tx 76102. Wendel was born in Fallon Tx (Mexia) July 1930. He was raised on a farm with his 2 sisters and a brother. There was plenty of hard work to be shared picking and shucking corn to eventually throwing it at each other:) Those days you had to learn how to fight for what you believed or fight to survive. He said, “Entertainment was, you go to a movie and then fight or vice versa.” He left all that at the age of 18 to head for gold out in California. He spent a few years there and came back to Houston where he met the love of his life, Billie Marie . They married, had three kids and got a taste of the oil and gas business. He worked at Shell Refinery, and developed the strongest arms that stayed with him until his last days of life. He eventually developed a passion for sales which lead to high management and then became an entrepreneur and owned his own company, Shiloh Chemical. The man never met a stranger and kept us all hilariously entertained throughout his entire life! 🙂 Wendel dedicated his life to being a successful husband, entrepreneur, family oriented giver with the biggest heart you could hold. He will be missed! Love ya Dad and now you can be with your wife! See! She was right there! ❤️ Survivors: Sons, Don, Gary and Eddie Tooke; all live in the DFW area; his sisters, Joyce Ann Sawyer from Arlington and Madge Pitzer from Burleson TX; two grandsons, Cory Tooke from Addison TX and Donnie Tooke from Arkansas; and three great-grandkids. Salute to ya POP!! We love you and mom RIP !!!!!! Wade Family Funeral Home (817) 274-9233
