Lim, Mai Moy, 85, beloved mother and grandmother, went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on April 20, 2022. Mai was born on September 9, 1936 in Rasa, Malaysia to Lim, Liew and Chin, Heong.
On October 17, 1954, Mai was married to Koh, Yook Kiew, who preceded her in death in 2012. Throughout their 58-year marriage, Yook and Mai built a legacy that touched many lives through their kindness and self-sacrificing generosity. In 1988, Yook and Mai relocated their family to begin a life in the United States that provided their children with an opportunity-filled future.
Mai loved gardening and cooking. Regularly making traditional Malaysian “kueh” (desserts and pastries), she shared them as an expression of her love with family and friends. All visitors were well-fed and adequately gifted with an abundance of snacks, fruits, and vegetables before leaving her house. Her joy and love made her home a most welcoming place and she was a bright light to all around her.
Mai came to know the Lord Jesus Christ at Life Lutheran Church in Semenyih, Malaysia and was baptized on March 29, 1964. She could consistently be found worshiping and serving others in church. In Texas, Mai attended Arlington Chinese Church. The Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13) was her favorite Bible passage and her life reflected her trust and dependence on God.
The Lord God greatly blessed her. Mai lived a full and adventurous life. She enjoyed dining out, shopping and traveling. Her life was filled with love, courage, grace and humility. Mai lived an example of a faith-filled life and devotion to her children, grandchildren, siblings and friends. She will be dearly missed and will forever be in our hearts. We celebrate and honor her for the legacy she left behind.
