Mae Hughes Stafford

Mae Hughes Stafford, 98, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Friday, May 25, 2018 in Arlington, Texas. Mae's life will be celebrated with a service on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 w. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, Texas 76013. Interment will be in Forest lawn Cemetery, in Richmond, Virginia. Mae was born on November 24, 1919 in Providence Forge, Virginia, to Charles Evans and Bertha Pearson Hughes. She attended Richmond Business College in Richmond, Virginia and worked as a bookkeeper for Dr.'s Martin, Blantons and Wickham, until she retired at a "young" 72 years of age. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 66 years, Kelly, and sisters, Phoebe and Myrtle. Mae is survived by her son, Ron Stafford and wife, Kathy; daughter, Martha S. Hermann,; granddaughter, Kelle H. McGough and husband, Shawn; grandson, Jared Hermann and wife, Jenna; great-grandchildren, Marlow, Mae and Jackson and Kinley and Quinn; as well as several nieces and nephews.
