Madonna Alvey (Elbert) was born to Earl and Geneva Elbert in Whittemore, IA on October 20, 1937. She grew up on her grandparent’s farm and often shared stories of sitting on the front porch with her grandfather and farm life in Iowa.
Madonna loved to cook and bake for her family and friends and only made one bad meal…salt crusted steak is not good!! Her cinnamon rolls were out of this world and often requested. Many of her children and grandchildren share the same love. She also loved sitting on the patio by the pool watching the birds eat at the bird feeder.
Madonna is survived by her husband James Alvey. They met and married in Algona, IA, celebrating 57 years of marriage.
Madonna is also survived by her sister Barb Grams (Gary), five children: Peter (Marina), Angela (Victor), Susan (Nabil), Maria and Sara, grandchildren: Danny (Christina), Elizabeth (Brian), Bryanna, Peyton (Chris), Kaylin (Brandon), Jordan (Venu), Jasmine and Lisa. Great grandchildren: Josephine, Abigail, Noah, Kaiya, Nahlia, and Alex and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Madonna is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Peter Joe.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Arlington Fire Station 16, the paramedics and especially the entire staff at Methodist Mansfield for taking such good care of Madonna for the last several years.
