Lynda Earlean Lacour

September 28, 1948 — January 11, 2023

Lynda Earlean Revels LaCour, age 74, transitioned peacefully on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at home with her family in Mansfield, Texas.
She was born September 28th 1948, in Orange County, California. to Earl Revels Sr and Gladys Marie Watson Revels. From this union she was born the eldest of 7 children, Dianne, Sandra, Lillian, Earl Jr., Sean and Roshawnda. She also has 2 older brothers, Henry and Ezra.
Lynda, grew up in Natchitoches, LA She graduated high school at Holy Rosary in Lafayette LA. She attended college in Baton Rouge, LA. at Southern University. Then united in marriage to Willie Herman Moore moved to Washington, DC where they had four daughters.
Her love for people and justice landed her a career as an administrative law paralegal in Social Security Law which spanned over 50 years. Her latest works with St Vincent de Paul in Arlington, TX through St Joseph Catholic Church were pro-bono for the disabled. This she continued throughout her illness. Lynda’s humility allowed her to see the best qualities in people and what they saw in her was a light that shined so brightly they felt her love even through a phone conversation.
These qualities set the tone for her life’s long journey as a published poet, an exemplary songstress, a gourmet personal chef, a compassionate teacher, an activist, a counselor within her Christian community and her family, a creative dancer, a wife, a daughter, a sister, an Auntie, a friend, a mother, a granny and a great grandmother. She was not limited to just these abilities, she pushed the boundaries and learned something new every day. She was a very studious and dignified woman.
Her instinct to love and care for others was insurmountable. Her compassion and ability to attract others to her light was infectious. She was always ready for the challenge and never saw a hurdle or felt burdened.
Her infectious smile was held in the heart of one of her classmates, Richard Bernard LaCour, her husband of 29 years. Their love story was one for the ages and couldn’t be made up. She lived her life with him to the fullest as “His Lady” as Celine Dion sings in their song “The Power of Love”.
She showered her family everyday in song and prayer and there was never a Saturday morning that didn’t have music and food made with love and passion in every bite. Everything she fought for, held dear, and loved is represented in her 4 daughters Yalawnda, Kristen, Melissa and Lisa her 12 grandchildren Justin, Michael, Melanie, Brianna, Brian, James, Brandon, Taeyon, Monet, Jalen, Madison and Aleeyah and 6 great grandchildren Lisa, Yonasen, Nora, Jaiden, Ky’an and Cru.
As her family we drew from her love, strength, and endurance. She never waivered from who she was even throughout her fight against her disease. She never once wavered in her decision to keep going She counted the costs, prayed incessantly, and held on to her trust in our creator and the resurrection hope through his son Jesus Christ. She taught us this through the words of one of her favorite songs ‘
“Unfailing love flows from his heart and heals my soul, In spite of who I am, he loves and makes me whole. I almost can’t believe its true,
Unfailing love and yet I know He gave his life to give to me unfailing love”. Lynda, Sister, Mommy, Auntie, Granny we will all be vigilant and there to meet you at the time given by our Creator to embrace you again in perfect conditions.
