Evelyn Louise Rowland Hooper
Earthly Birthday: December 5, 1925
Heavenly Birthday: June 28, 2022
Louise Hooper of Arlington, Texas was born in West Palm Beach, Florida on December 5, 1925. She went to be with her Lord on June 28, 2022. Louise, a woman of grace and faith, beautiful both outwardly and inwardly. She was married to Ralph Hooper for 64 years until the time of his entrance into heaven.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, her parents, JT and Ora Rowland, one brother, Autry Rowland, and one sister, LaVerne Williams. She is survived by Debbie Bertrand, daughter, and husband, Terry; Angie Heston, daughter, and husband, Bill; Clif Hooper, son, and wife, Lisa; seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Sylvia Annette Brown of Warner Robins, Georgia and her husband, Jack.
Louise was known for her hospitality and warmth. She attracted people with her charm, acceptance and inviting personality. People wanted to be near her, and even when separated by years or miles, that connection remained. She collected intimate friendships that spanned from Atlanta, Georgia; Conroe, Granbury and Arlington Texas. Her intentional hospitality was experienced by family, church friends and strangers. It was evident when entering her home that she had prepared the event for each person individually. The smell of amazing Southern homecooked meals, perfect table settings and warm inviting home décor, all combined to welcome those who came to their door. With her husband Ralph’s gift for engaging people with little or no commitment to Christ and her ability to welcome even the most wounded of people, they were a power couple of living faith. They impacted hundreds, especially young couples, to grow in their Christian walk. Her commitment to family modeled for many what biblical homes could look like. Every Christmas and birthday she remembered each of her three children and their spouses, her seven grandchildren and spouses and her sixteen great-grands, even until her final hour, because it was important they knew that “Granny” loved them and they were special. One of Louise and Ralph’s former pastors said, “every church they joined was better because they were there.” It could be said for all of us that we are better because Louise was in our lives as well.
