ARLINGTON -- Louise "Nanny" Gilstrap, 90, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, in Arlington.
Funeral: 3 p.m. Thursday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Interment: 2 p.m. Friday in Trinity Memorial Park, Big Spring. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Louise was born Feb. 18, 1925, to James Eugene McNeese and Vada Belle Gossett McNeese. A resident of Arlington for 21 years, she was a charter member of Mount Olive Ministry Center Church of God. She was a licensed minister in The Church of God. Her children referred to her as "The Mother of Education." She provided finances for many children to attend school. Education and ministry were very important to her. Louise was a Sunday school teacher and was a major influence on many.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Billy Luke Snider; and husband, Clarence Lee "BB" Gilstrap.
Survivors: Son, Clarence Dean Gilstrap and wife, Freida; daughter, Linda Louise Sands and husband, Donald Gary; grandchildren, Chaplain Capt. Gary Don Sands, PhD., and wife, Ginger, Jason Dean Gilstrap and wife, Gail, Kristen Campbell and husband, Dr. Lee Campbell; and great-grandchildren, Taylor Sands, Samantha Sands, Emily Gilstrap, Luke Gilstrap, Ella Campbell and Trey Campbell.
