PANTEGO -- Louis Edwin Nabors, 88, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, in Arlington.
Memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, with the Rev. Bobby Bridges officiating. Visitation: 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday.
Louis was born Jan. 12, 1926, in Fort Worth to Bourland Mason and Elston Mae Bruton Nabors. He graduated from Polytechnic High School in 1943 and then attended Millsaps College, Kansas State University and Texas Christian University.
Louis served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired after 40 years of service at Vought Aircraft. He served on the board of directors for the Texas Trust Credit Union for many years. Louis was also a past president of the Lions Club.
Louis loved golf and made six holes in one.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dana Smith, and a sister, Jerrienne Mack.
Survivors: Wife of 68 years, Jo Evelyn Nabors; daughters, Christy Crump and husband, Paul, Merrell Woolf and husband, David, and Kendell Vaught and husband, Chuck; sister, Lavonne Kirkpatrick; grandchildren, Chad, Rachel, Jeremy, Casey, Jaime, Lindsey, Shannon, Garrett and Britni; and 12 great-grandchildren.
