Louis Anthony “Lou” Ferraro, 82, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2017 in Arlington, Texas.
Memorial Mass: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1200 S. Davis Drive, Arlington. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Lou was born on February 17, 1935 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Dominic Ferraro and Mary Sosso Ferraro. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and received his Bachelors degree from Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania. Lou worked in Corporate Management for many years at Ben Hogan Co. where he was Safety Director, Human Resources Manager, and Chief of Security. When the company relocated to Richmond, Va., Lou chose to remain in Texas where his kids and grandchildren were. Subsequently, he worked at VIP Samples Inc. where he was Human Resources Mgr. for 15 years.
Lou was proud of his heritage. His father moved to the U.S. in 1922 at the age of 22 from Ausonia, Italy. His mother's parents both came here from Italy as well. He was a founder and former president of Sons of Italy Casa d' Italia Lodge 2525 in Arlington, Texas. He was known for his beautiful singing voice, and was a good golfer. Besides singing in choirs, including Latin Masses, he performed in numerous musicals in Pittsburgh, Pa. for the Golden Keys, for many years.
Lou was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Frances Ferraro; and grandson, Justin Michael McNulty.
Survivors: The love of his life, Wife of 60 years, Ruth Werder Ferraro; daughter, Tami Marie McNulty and husband, Gary; sons, Daniel Louis Ferraro and wife, Karen J., Jeffrey David Ferraro and wife, Karen A., and Eric Francis “Ric” Ferraro; grandchildren, Jilian Baugh, Cory McNulty, Calen McNulty, Tanner McNulty, Ian McNulty, Victoria Ferraro, Samantha Ferraro, Nicolas Ferraro, Christopher Ferraro, Kayla LaLiberte and Kacie Ferraro; and 21 great-grandchildren.
