During his service, he was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal and was designated a distinguished Chief Petty Officer before retiring in 1975. Following his military career, Mac went on to work at Williamson Printing Corporation in Dallas, Texas for 28 years. He was most known by his colleagues for implementing the same exemplary discipline he had learned from the military into his print work before retiring in 2005.
Mac is survived by his wife Venida Megee, of 27 years; three daughters: Misa Domke (Michael), Aki VanBuskirk (Michael), and Ilka Megee; five grandchildren: Gabriella, Olivia, and Nicholas Domke; Autumn and Mikala VanBuskirk.
