Lois Faye Ankele, 87, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021 in Arlington, just 7 weeks after her husband of 58 years passed away.
Graveside Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas.

Lois was born on October 8, 1933 in Fort Worth, Texas to Max Dockery and Minnie Lee Kelley Dockery. She graduated from Pascal High School in 1951 and entered nurses training at City County Hospital in Fort Worth in September of 1951. Lois graduated in August of 1954, passed her board exams, and received her RN degree in 1955. Lois attended Texas Wesleyan College from 1957-1958 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Nursing degree.
The City County Hospital's name was changed to John Peter Smith Hospital where Lois worked as an operating room nurse until 1961. She then became an Assistant Supervisor of the operating room at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Worth.
Lois met Richard Ankele on December 1961 and they were married on April 21, 1962. They were members of First Presbyterian Church in Arlington.
Lois enjoyed traveling, and being first a mother and then grandmother. She was active in her neighborhood and was frequently seen walking hand-in-hand with her husband.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Minnie Dockery; and husband, Richard Ankele.
Survivors: Son, Ken Ankele and wife, Stacey and their children, Matthew, Kyle and Jacob; daughter, Cathy Lopez and husband, David and their children, Andrew, Matthew, Megan, Peyton, Baylor and Adison; and one-great-granddaughter, Melanie.
