Lisa Jane Moore

Lisa Jane Moore went to be with her Lord and Savior May 25, 2018. Lisa was born in Dallas, Texas to Joe Louis and Lida Jane Gillespie on August 23, 1960. She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Louis Gillespie, Jr. She was married to Bruce Wayne Moore for 37 years and they had two children. Lisa is survived by her husband Bruce, her mother, Lida Jane Gillespie; son, Samuel Everett Moore and partner Barbara; daughter, Rachel Kranis and husband Bryan, brother, Patrick Gillespie and wife Sophie; sister, Lou Ann Gray and husband John; grandson, Castiel Moore Maldonado; nieces, Amanda Strickland and husband Adrian, and Tricia Neidhart and husband Kyle; and nephew Tyler Gillespie and wife Samantha. Lisa graduated from Westchester Senior High School, Houston, Texas, in 1978. She attended the University of Texas at Arlington where she met her future husband, Bruce. Lisa and Bruce were married July 19, 1980. She graduated from Texas Women's University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She spent many years working as a registered nurse at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas. In 1992, Lisa became a mother, which had been her greatest wish and a blessing from God. Unbelievably, in 1993, she became a mother again, doubly blessed! During her life she has raised children, used her nursing skills in clinical research and in her own home health care business. She also ventured into radio doing community service health talk shows and political activist radio shows. Later in her career, she used her nursing skills to train new nurses in nurse education classes at a vocational college. After Lisa's cancer diagnosis, she had many days, months, then years to deal with her disease and many treatments. However, she also had many days, months and years to be with friends and family. She spent her time loving and caring for others, trying to keep her attitude positive and had a fighting spirit. She rejoiced to be able to see her grandson born and to be his “Ita” (little grandmother). She also was so happy that she got to dance at her daughter's wedding. Those who know “little Lisa” know she has a big heart. Even in her final months she was singing and dancing on Saturday nights with all her friends at Kareoke. She wanted to have as much fun as she could for as long as she could. Lisa knew she would miss seeing all her friends and family but for her “the best was yet to come!”
