Lisa Gail Lively Reed

June 28, 1964 — August 9, 2024

Lisa Gail Lively Reed was born on June 28, 1964 in Arlington Memorial Hospital. She died on August 9, 2024, after suffering with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her Husband of 33 years Robert Reed and her son Carter Reed (fiancé Michelle Harnisch); her parents Johnette Tingley (Warren) and Gerald Lively (Peggy); her sisters Laura Lively Hawkins (Paul), Lana Lively; her step siblings, Sheryl Hagen, Alan Tingley (Pam), Steve Parrish (Kate), Lucas Parrish (Robin); her brother-in-law John Reed (Linda), and many nieces and nephews.

She grew up in First Baptist Church Arlington and still had her little white New Testament Bible with her name printed in gold on the front. She remembered fondly the influence of the ministers that strengthened her faith during her teenage years; her pastor, Charles Wade and his wife Rosemary and the music minister Dennis Jewett, youth ministers George Mason and his wife Kim, Don McLeod and his wife Debbie. While living in Austin, she was a member of Tarrytown Baptist Church.

She attended Arlington High School and graduated in 1982, and then went to Texas A&M and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.

She worked for many years in Technical Writing; for State of Texas where she met her husband Robert and with BMC Software, before she started her most important role as Mom to Carter. Lisa held many different jobs at Highland Baptist Preschool where she was the office manager. She also worked for the Adoption Coalition of Texas, helping to place Foster Kids with Forever Families, and was the Director of the Heart Gallery of Central Texas. Lisa was working at Centene Corporation when her disease robbed her of the ability to work.

Lisa volunteered at St. Andrews Episcopal School where her son Carter attended, and she also expressed her love of dogs and care for the elderly through volunteering for 29 years with Therapy Pet Pals of Texas where she and Oreo visited nursing homes to bring happiness to the residents.
