Linda was born on April 28, 1943 in Dallas, TX. She graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Masters Degree in Social Work. She was a Dallas County Child Welfare social worker for 15 years. In 1978, Linda reunited with her high school sweetheart Andy, and they were married in Dallas on May 19, 1979. The couple moved to Summerville, South Carolina, where Linda played a lot of golf, read a lot of books, and made a lot of friends. She was also a member of the South Carolina Foster Care Review Board; taught psychology at Trident Technical College; and served both as President of Women's Golf, and Chairman of the Board, of the Kings Grant Country Club. Linda also worked for Bellwright Industries, the family business.
In 2005 Linda and Andy fulfilled their 1979 promise of returning home to Texas, where Linda picked up where she left off with family and old friends. She spent time at book club, with Sweet Potato Queens, and on the golf course, becoming a Board Member at the Walnut Creek Country Club. Linda taught everyone valuable life lessons, like: Dancing does not require rhythm; If the dogs howl when you're singing, you're doin' it right; and When in doubt about what to wear, go with leopard print and red lipstick.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Grace Scanlan.
