ARLINGTON -- Linda Vaught Delashmit of Arlington passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 West Pioneer Parkway in Arlington, officiated by the Rev. Dale R. Harlan.
Graveside service: 11 a.m. Tuesday in Bethlehem Church Cemetery in Bremen, Ky. Visitation: The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Friday, prior to the service, at Wade Family Funeral Home.
Memorials: The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to TNA The Facial Pain Association (www.fpa-support.org); UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, Department of Neurosurgery; Baylor University Medical Center Research Institute at Dallas; or a charity of your choice.
Born to the late Fuqua and Eddith Vaught in Bremen, Ky., on Aug. 9, 1943, Linda graduated from Murray State University in 1965, attended Auburn University, and received her master's degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. She retired from the University of North Texas and the Arlington Independent School District after teaching math, physics and computer science in Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida, Pennsylvania and Texas. She enjoyed traveling, genealogy, and most of all her wonderful grandchildren. Linda was a member of First Baptist Church, Arlington.
Survivors: Her son, Mark (Erin) Delashmit; grandchildren, Christian and Victoria of Southlake; son, Rick (Sherry) Delashmit of Cedar Park; and very special friend, Merlin "Mitch" Michaud of Kennedale. In addition, she is survived by her brother, Don (Betty) Vaught of Albuquerque, N.M.; brother, Larry (Freida) Vaught of Jacksonville, Fla.; sister, Jettie Carol (Dale) Harlan of Charlotte, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
