Linda Gail Walker Stone, 74, passed away on Monday August 22 in Arlington, Texas
Funeral: 2 pm Saturday, August 27th, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W Pioneer Parkway
Linda was born on November 19, 1948 in Livingston, TX to Grady and Ruby Walker. She attended Glen Park Elementary School, Kennedale Junior High School, and Kennedale High School where she graduated in 1967.
In 1968 she met the love of her life, James Thomas Stone. They were married March 8, 1969 and entered ministry together. They ministered together in several churches and were always willing to minister in whatever capacity they were needed and wherever God called them.
Linda loved ministering to children. They had none of their own but helped raise many. She was an excellent seamstress and did beautiful crochet and counted cross stitch work.
Linda is preceded in death by her husband of 51years, James Stone, her parents Grady and Ruby Walker, and her brother Duane Walker.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Rexine Haffner and husband Don of Rusk, TX, sister-in-law, Karen Walker of Leesburg, Texas, special God-daughter Tamela Mann and husband David of Mansfield, TX who treated Linda like a true mom to the very end, and special nephew David Lester of Arlington, TX, whom Linda recently called, “The son every mother wishes she had.”
Linda is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews plus a great host of cousins and friends.
