ARLINGTON -- Leslie "Corky" Wayne Lawing, 60, beloved father and friend, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2013, in Arlington.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wade Family Funeral Home Chapel, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, Pastor Bill Morrow officiating. Interment: Old Arlington Cemetery, Arlington. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Corky was born Aug. 8, 1952, in Fort Worth to Leslie Burn Lawing and Ida Marie Williams Lawing. A lifelong Arlington resident, he was a member of a pioneer Arlington family. Corky worked as a service manager for Crawford and Bargas Automotive. He enjoyed fishing and yard work. He gave his all to everyone who knew him. He never met a stranger.
Corky was preceded in death by his mother, Ida Marie, in 1985.
Survivors: Father, Leslie B. Lawing of Grandview; daughter, Leah Sanchez and husband, Rufus, of Mansfield; brothers, Dickie Lawing and wife, Phyllis, of Arlington, Mike Lawing and wife, Jayne, of Grandview; he was known to his beloved grandchildren, Melissa and Sebastian Sanchez, as "Taw Taw"; girlfriend, Debbie Diaz of Arlington; nephew, Brent Lawing; niece, Julie Plascencia; and a host of other family and friends.
